Art DeFever:
There are an estimated 3,300 boats afloat— fishing vessels, ferries, sports fishers and yachts from 34' to more than 150'—that were designed by Arthur DeFever. Many bear his name and can be found cruising the world’s oceans.
Few other naval architects have produced such a fleet.
More than anyone else, DeFever merits recognition for introducing trawler-type yachts to recreational boating. Fishing boat design features, including the Portugese bridge, a raised pilothouse, long keels, and weight and stability permitting ocean and long-distance cruising, flowed from his drafting table to the world’s waterways.
SELAH is an extraordinary vessel with exceptionally fine teak joinery throughout, all of which is in excellent condition. She has beautiful teak and holly decks throughout the interior, individual air conditioning units in all staterooms, pilothouse and salon.
The condition of this vessel leaves no doubt that the owner has spared no expense with respect to maintenance. The cockpit extension and the extensive upgrades and updates were completed in 2000. The cockpit is exquisite and, in addition to enhancing her profile, the additional buoyancy aft yields better handling and an improved cruising speed.
This is a must see vessel for extended ocean cruising or an executive dinner party at the dock with beautiful night lighting, or anything in between. The master and VIP staterooms are gorgeous and graceful.
The engine room is large and well organized, monitored by 4 TV cameras with video displays in the pilothouse and on the flybridge.
If you are seriously seeking a well-designed yacht from a builder with an impeccable reputation and you enjoy quality custom features and fine maintenance, take the time to see this yacht.
SELAH has been donated to a charity who no longer has a need for the vessel, hence the aggressive asking price.
